This is sad to hear, but not unexpected.

Although the WTB&TS claims otherwise, death (and often, the decline that precedes it) is a NATURAL part of the "circle of life."

Many times in the recent past Grace spoke of her willingness to meet her personal end.

She will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her for her youthful spirit, her sense of humor and her willingness to help others avoid the snare that complicated her life.

I loved her, in a totally appropriate and non-sensual way.

sorry if this has been discussed before.... for a few days now, this question has been going through my mind.

what was the date the governing body took the sole role of the faithful and discreet slave and how close was it to the end of the mayan calendar in december of 2012?

i looked it up on jwfactes.com and sure enough, checkout the date on this article:.

Why I like the Mormons and why they are so much nicer then the JWs.

i never really knew any until recently.

as a witness we all thought they were weird.

but the two faiths are a lot alike, except the mormons are really so much nicer than the jws!.

I have to agree with JustFine. I have worked for an LDS bishop and I have worked with members of his family and members of his congregation. All were honest and dependable guys.

I do think the LDS has a much better view of the family and higher education than the WTB&TS will ever have.

A funny story - I was in upper NYS for a few weeks and one of my LDS co-workers was also there for a different purpose. Our weekends were full of "nothing-to-do," so I made a proposal: we would drive over to Hill Cumorah in Manchester, New York IF he would come to the midnight showing of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" with me when we got back from Hill Cumorah. He agreed. I saw Hill Cumorah through the eyes of a sociologist, and I got to enjoy seeing my friend deal with the "risque" elements of TRHPS and the audience participation therein. He survived undamaged, though I am sure he doubted he would. We remained friends until our jobs took us in different directions.

so i had a phone conversation last night, i'm not proud of myself but that is how the cookie crumbles.

started off all well & good then up came the arc which i was informed was all propaganda & the oct 2012 polices i got from the internet are apostate & not true.

I predicted a lottery number from a pattern, is the lottery NOT random or is random held to a universal force?

i've studied and observed several lottery patterns.

this one is now gone so nothing lost by revealing it.

i had a certain history search and noticed that almost each week the past few months a list of numbers not used recently were being used 1 per week.

I'm not convinced. If they were TRUE random numbers, wouldn't it be possible to have the winning number come out as "1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1," or some other absurd result?

Such a result is not possible because when a number comes up, it is removed from the set of remaining possible winning numbers.

I think that lottery numbers are high-order pseudo-random numbers.

I'm ready to get my first Powerball ticket -- NOT!

it's up to some 800 zillion dollars now and hasn't suckered me in yet.

i've been out of watchtower for some 38 years now and i suppose the lottery is one of their nonoze.

i have nothing morally wrong against it or anyone who enjoys doing it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you DO NOT KNOW that so far 18,315,365 people have won money from their powerball ticket.

Every time a Powerball ticket is bought, a massive 50% goes towards prizes (20% into the jackpot pool, the other 30% towards other prizes). The remaining 50% goes to the state where the ticket was bought to cover operating costs, retailer costs and of course good causes.

Of course, not all of those were BIG winners, but I think that 18 million prizes might be enough to satisfy you.

See? The truth does set one free, doesn't it?

Wish me luck, I'm hoping for my third superball win next week!

The funny thing about your opening post, Closed, is that you give the impression that YOU (as a JW elder) WERE ENTITLED to be treated "truthfully".

Whatever gave you that idea?

Are you not familiar with the doctrine of "Theocratic Warfare"? Some people are NOT ENTITLED to "The Trooth," you know.

As an elder, you were a yes-man for, and an official of, an Organization founded by a liar and perpetuated for the benefit of liars.

...and despite you claim to be leaving the WTB&TS (BEHOLD! A Divine Mystery! In, yet not in!), you seem to remain fixated on how you are supposed to be treated.
